EDUCATION &
Experience:
Required:
Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
Three (3) plus year of nursing experience, with a preference for experience in the substance abuse treatment industry.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and/or Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Starting base pay ranges from $39.

Summary:
Functions as a key member of the multi-disciplinary admissions team; works collectively to support the needs of prospective patients and to secure VHA as their service provider.
Utilizes good judgement, critical thinking skills, industry specific knowledge, and customer services skills to solidify commitments and make appropriate placements for prospective/incoming patients within VHA programs.
Conducts medical assessments for incoming patients during the admissions intake process.
Assesses and validates prospective/incoming patients for appropriate level of care (residential, partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient, and outpatient) based on physical health/medical state.
Conducts the clinical assessments for incoming patients (as needed):
completes biopsychosocial during the admissions intake process; utilizes ASAM criteria in performing screening of mental health/emotional state.
Assesses and validates prospective/incoming patients for appropriate level of care (residential, partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient, and outpatient) based on mental health/emotional state (as needed).
Completes the pre-certification insurance process for incoming/admitting patients when biopsychosocial is completed (by the nurse).
Contacts physician for admitting patient following admissions intake process; adds admissions notes in electronic medical records.
Reviews hospital records for appropriateness for admitting patients; consults with Clinical Program Director and Nursing Director on medical concerns and/or additional information listed for appropriateness.
Performs medication reconciliation for admitting residential patients.
Contacts physician/provider for doctors' orders for admitting patients.
Updates electronic records in identified data tracking/electronic medical records systems for prospective and incoming patients; inputs data in an accurate and timely manner following calls and admissions processing.
Assists with follow-up appointments post treatment as back up to the nursing department.
Provides support as needed in assessing any re-admissions conditions for re-admitting patients.
Performs various administrative duties in support of the admissions process and admissions team responsibilities (e.
g.
, chart audits; maintenance activities within data tracking systems such as dispositioning of patient call records, records clean up; etc.
).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
