Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma or G.
E.
D.
equivalent.
Two (2) years emergency dispatch experience preferred.
Two (2) years of increasingly responsible related experience to provide for the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of computers and electronic data processing, and modern office practices and procedures.
Knowledge of the Town's geography and street system in order to effectively assist officers and citizens.
Skill in the operation of office, dispatch or other unique equipment.
Ability to understand the principles of Community Policing and to integrate that philosophy into daily operations, duties and contact with the public.
Ability to perform multiple tasks at relatively the same time.
Ability to effectively communicate with a broad range of people through written or verbal communication.
Must be able to understand and be understood when using a telephone or radio headset.
Ability to function effectively and to take appropriate action in emergency situations.
Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
Ability to type 35 wpm accurately.
The ability to successfully complete a background check including but not limited to:
drug screen, criminal history search, credit check and polygraph examination is required.

Shift work required.
Days, evenings, weekend and holiday hours will be required.
Continuous Timeline:
(subject to change) Applications will be reviewed by Communications Management Staff as received and testing emails will be sent upon application approval.
Preliminary Zoom and Oral Board Interviews:
Conducted approximately every two (2) weeks.
Candidates will be notified via phone, text or email regarding interview times/dates.
Chief Interviews & Backgrounds:
On-going Candidates eligible to test will receive a link to the Criticall testing software.
This link will be from email protected so please be sure to check your spam/junk folder.
Please note that this testing will be done by using personal computer equipment on the candidates own time.
It will be at the discretion of the Communications Manager if in-person testing times will be offered.
The full salary range for this position is:
$29.
04 - $40.
65 per hour.
